The Local Initiative Fund (LIF), a program funded through FedNor/Industry Canada, is
designed to assist community’s access financial resources for the implementation of
small-scale community economic development initiatives. Initiatives that correspond
with Wakenagun’s mandate and the objectives outlined within Wakenagun’s strategic
plan and/or FedNor’s program objectives will be considered a priority under the LIF.
Projects under the Local Initiative Fund can include the following:

Projects to promote innovation and new technology |

E-commerce promotion |
|

Development of on-line business services |
|

Environmental assessment reports |

Marketing/promotional activities |
|

Community tourism events |
|
|
Other community-based economic development projects |
Eligible Applicants:
Fort Severn First Nation, Peawanuck First Nation, Attawapiskat First Nation,
Kashechewan First Nation, Fort Albany First Nation, the Town of Moosonee, Moose
Cree First Nation, MoCreebec Council of the Crees, Taykwa Tagamou First Nation,
Chapleau Cree First Nation, Missanabie Cree First Nation or a Non-Profit organization
within the Wakenagun CFDC service area. Projects that relate to Wakenagun CFDC’s
strategic plan and/or the CFDC mandate will be considered a priority.
