Investment Fund - Financing up to a maximum of $150,000.00, in the form of loans, loan guarantees, and equity participation, is available to individuals or for-profit businesses with a well-documented business plan seeking to establish or expand a new or existing business. The Investment Fund has been established in partnership with FedNor/Industry Canada.

Aboriginal Business Development Fund - Financing up to $20,000.00 in the form of a loan is available to assist aboriginal entrepreneurs with business start-ups or expansion. Participation in a Wakenagun CFDC entrepreneurial training program is mandatory prior to accessing the Fund. The Aboriginal Business Development Fund has been established in partnership with the Business Development Bank of Canada as part of a national pilot project.

Self-Employment Benefits Program: |
| Participants in the Aboriginal Business Development Fund Program are eligible for participation in the Self-Employment Benefits in partnership with Mushkegowuk Council Employment and Training Services. Individuals interested in participating in this program are encouraged to contact their local HRSDC office or Mushkegowuk Council Employment and Training Services at 705-658-4222. |

Technical Support is available to our member communities who are undertaking community strategic planning projects.
The Local Initiative Fund (LIF), a program funded through FedNor /Industry Canada, is designed to assist community’s access financial resources to assist in the implementation of small-scale community economic development initiatives. Initiatives that correspond with Wakenagun’s mandate and the objectives outlined within Wakenagun’s strategic plan and/or FedNor ’s program objectives will be considered a priority under the LIF. Financing up to $5,000.00 per project is available.
